Honourable Oke-Aare Aina, one of the cofounders and Oyo State coordinator of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS), has paid a tribute to Late Chief Oluwatoyin Mariam Badmus two years after her demise.

The deceased, who was commemorated by Hon. Oke-Aare Aina in an emotional tribute, founded the society in 2019 to bring women together in order to foster support for the candidacy of President Bola Tinubu during the primary and general elections in the wake of the 2023 electioneering.

Hon. Aina, who is a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State, lauded the confidence of the deceased in President Tinubu, saying that the remaining members of the group had stayed in her confidence since her death.

“Two years gone so fast, it looks and feels just like yesterday. A lot has happened since you left. You were our confidence of a renewed hope Agenda,, we stood by your confidence in Asiwaju as you fondly call Mr President,” she stated, emphasizing on the effort of the deceased to bring women together nationally to support Tinubu.

Hon. Oke-Aare Aina believed that while the founder had passed on, her belief about President Tinubu had come to fruition. She asserted that the president has ‘displayed national love for the future generation.

“I am pleased to let you know that he has been courageous as you said. He has displayed national love for the future generation. It has not been easy, but we can see a brighter future.”

The women leader disclosed that the society which Chief Oluwatoyin founded had been trying to cope in the absence of the founder, expressing that the vacuum left by Chief Oluwatoyin has not been filled.

“Your death left a vacuum. Your beloved group AWCS has been trying to stay aloof against all odds

We miss you. How I wish we could turn the hand of time to have you back.”
