Hon. Oke-Aare Aina mourns Buhari, calls his death end of an era

Hon. Oke-Aare Aina (JEGA) has mourned the death of the former president, Muhammodu Buhari, who passed away in London on Sunday as announced by his media aide, Garba Sheu, on X (formerly known as Twitter). 

JEGA mourned the loss of the former president in a statement she released on Monday, calling the passing away as a national loss. She stated that it was the end of an era in the nation's political history. 


“With a heavy heart, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of the former President of Nigeria, Muhammodu Buhari. His passing marks the end of an era in our nation's political history,” she said. 


Prior to his death, former president Muhammodu Buhari was a two-time president of Nigeria as an army and a civilian. He became the military head of state in 1983 and was elected as the president in 2015, a title he held till 2023, serving two terms in office. 


However, Hon. Oke-Aare Aina sent her condolences to the family of the deceased. She prayed that they have the strength to bear the loss, while she also prayed that Nigeria continues to grow in unity and strength. 


“I pray that the Almighty comforts his family, grants them strength in this difficult time, and receives his soul in eternal peace. May Nigeria continue to grow in strength, unity, and peace as we honor the memory of our past leaders.”
